Paramount – by Warhol and Basquiat (1984)

Every time I see a Basquiat piece, I think of how much pain it took for him to be famous. The chaos is suffocating for me. This work, like so many others, feels like an explosion of emotions. I was digging through my drafts, looking for inspiration and found this. Funny how the only person Basquiat must have disappointed was himself.

The piece acts as a bit of a rorschach diagram for me, I now see a caricature of Trump in the bottom right hand of the artwork. I’m not sure if that’s what it is… or that’s where my mind is. I don’t remember where exactly I saw this piece… but it’s amazing to see how art can speak to different me in different times.
