This is my favorite wrap dress of all time. This grey, velvet/velour number is from American Apparel a few seasons back. Both the style and the color of the dress are incredibly flexible and perfect for transitioning between seasons.

I love a wrap dress because the only fitted portion is at the top, so these fit almost anyone. The tightest part of the dress is around the waste, and the construction provides a sort of “belt” that i think provides a slimming effect. Additionally, I find it hard to find tops that fit me because I’m so small 😔but the wrap dress allows you to tighten or loosen the top, depending on your needs.

Spring weather is confusing, so I take to interesting fabrics to match. Both my dress and my shoes are velour; while the colors are very light, the fabric is heavy and warm to give me the balance to enjoy the sunshine, although the wind might be blowing. I think grey is a great transitional color — paired correctly, it can serve as a nude and allow you to rely on your accessories to really set the mood.
