Dedicated my last day in Vegas to the spa and started with trying out a pedi at @GarraLasVegas This spot was a lot more fun & low-key than I expected & the fish were as good at their job as they are said to be. The customer service was worth mentioning; The girls who work the spa inject their fun & youthfulness into the business as they prep and inform you about everything you need & want to know. Not only are they kind, but incredibly informed about their job.

Plaza Mella – Havana, Cuba
In 1925, Mella was expelled from the University after he and fellow students forcibly took over the university and made demands including modernizing text books and free education for all. After being accused of a bomb plot, Mella was expelled from the University for this “radical”, political involvement. Once freed from jail, Mella fled to Mexico, where he was assassinated under suspicious circumstances just a few years later, in 1929, at just 26 years old.
Where to Stay: Philly Weekend Getaway
The AirBNB in Philly was between University City and West Philadelphia. It was perfectly located to hit the cheesesteaks we wanted to taste test over the weekend. The spot itself was super cute. The building is painted a fun purple color, although we barely used the front door. Honestly, the best part of the AirBNB was that there was a dedicated parking spot in the back, inside a gate.
Where to Stay in Puerto Rico: Hato Rey
For the second part of my Puerto Rico trip, I stayed at a place in Hato Rey with a beautiful rooftop. While I loved the beaches, having a private pool was something I couldn’t pass up!
Flyboarding – Loquillo, PR
I think I was flying around for about 30 minutes; it felt like a really long time, even though it took me forever to stand up straight. He also took tons of photos and videos of me which I received in a few days. The photos were included, which is a great plus and truly earned them the tip I left. If ever I get the chance, I’ll definitely do this again, it was such an exhilarating experience and I felt it in my entire body afterwards. I’m always up for a new water sport!
Flying Solo: The Final Break-Up that Sent me on a Solo Trip to P.R.
I can’t remember the last thing he “did” for me. He liked to say that our trip to Jamaica in July last year was my “best vacation” ever because it was all-inclusive and he barely had to plan anything… I know he’s wrong because I loved Cuba more (& I went with my mom). We had gotten into arguments on the flight to and from paradise and I can’t tell you why I hung on… trying to make it to 3 years; wasting my precious time.
@GarrettPopcorn 🍿- Chicago, Illinois
The oddest thing you have to try in Chicago is popcorn. Apparently there are tons of places you can get it from but the Chicago natives I met swear by Garrett’s. I got my popcorn to-go at the airport, where I got to talking with the woman in line behind me. “Garrett’s is the only popcorn I eat” she told me, and if that’s so, she’s one lucky lady. While you can choose from regular buttered or cheese, I always go for the caramel.
Hotel Essex – Chicago, Illinios
At check in, I was greeted by the lovely smile of Martha who helped me pick my room. (Amber helped me later. Everyone was so nice.) I explained that my flight had been cancelled and that I might be sharing the room with 1 or 2 other people. After offering my enough Fiji water for all of us, Martha informed me that the room with two beds wouldn’t have the view I was looking for; the room overlooking the park would only have 1 bed. Because I was in a total mood & have some fancy friends, I chose the room with the view and couldn’t have been happier. Martha even called up to make sure I was happy with the room. What I loved about the service in this place is that they were always available if I needed them, but never overbearing.
The Luminous Lagoon – Falmouth, Jamaica
We kinda got tricked into going to the Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth, but it was all for the better. Right after Rafting at Martha Brea River, you’re driven to the luminous lagoon where the water magically” lights up when it moves. On this tour, you get to witness the beauty of bioluminescence micro-organisms first hand!
Touring the Bob Marley Museum
Although 56 Hope Road is not where Marley grew up, it has been gifted to us as to preserve music, much like how the house was given to him. Tours start every 30 minutes and last about 90 minutes total. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable and started the tour by asking us each where we were from, to which he was able to give a way in which Bob Marley was connected to all of us. Although Bob passed away at the young age of 36, the tour shows how much work he put in in his life & how his influence won over the entire globe, over time.
