“Ella Mai” by @EllaMai

Written by President ELLA

I’ve been waiting for a full (new) project from Ms. Ella Mai. Apparently, she’s been working on this self-titled album and compiling her work just for people like me 🙂 The 16 song project is certainly worth the listen; even the mediocre song are really good because her voice is simply that serene.

Christian R&B + Hip Hop Artist – @RahnAnthoni

Written by Brittany Shawnté

I have the privilege to share the story of Christian R&B/hip hop artist Rahn Anthoni!

In addition to his experience as a TV host, Rahn effortlessly creates inspirational music with R&B, hip hop, and gospel elements, hoping to reach someone else with his words. “Music is soothing to the soul and, when you have the right lyrics, it makes life easier especially when it’s words of encouragement,” he said. “If a person is going through [an] issue in life, music can help.”

Singer/Songwriter @Nisan Joseph

Written by Brittany Shanwté

Here we have Atlanta-based neo-soul artist Nisan Joseph! Raised in Houston, TX, the artist revealed that he was brought up by traditional parents, who raised him on timeless gospel and old-school R&B, which eventually influenced his own sound and lyrics. Nisan actually didn’t start singing until he was a senior in high school after he was forced into choir as an elective. “It was pretty much fate, or in God’s plan, that I got into music,” he said. Currently, the singer is finishing up a chemistry degree at Clark Atlanta University, and is signed with Loud N Klear Entertainment, balancing school and music. Though Nisan admits that he has a love of science, he plans to focus completely on music after graduation.

Neo-Soul, R&B Artist @Just_KJames

Written by Brittany Shawnté

Neo-soul and R&B artist, K. James, whose music video for track “Koolin’ ” was recently featured on the site, has always had a great appreciation for good music with a message, containing real experiences. “Music has always been in my blood,” K. James said. “Since I was 5 years old, I grew up listening to my mother’s radio full of artists such as Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass, R. Kelly, and The Temptations.” He went on to add, “It has been a dream of mine to express my creativity through song, giving people something to relate to and making a living while doing something I love was all the motivation I needed to pursue this dream of mine.”

Freudian by @DanielCaesar

I first saw Daniel Caesar in the sky. His massive, solo billboard by 14th street in NYC is awe striking. I wasn’t expecting to see a handsome brother up so high as soon as I came off of the train, but here he was. That’s a sad joke, but I do love to support brown faces in music (judge me). Since I had never heard of Daniel, and he has such a beautiful name, I decided to type him into my Apple and am very happy with the findings. I’ve been waiting on some good R&B.

Got some music for you — an EP from R&B singer Khari King, entitled “Messy Painter!”

The EP, which includes track may b, goes through the ups and downs of a relationship, with Khari truly in love with a special woman and wanting their relationship to stand the test of time. Not only is the project really relatable, but Khari’s smooth vocals are soothing to listen to. This is definitely a great project to check out, especially for all of the R&B lovers like me out there!

Pop and R&B Singer: @IamJulianeMusic

Written by Brittany Shawnté

Juliane realized that music was what she wanted to do with her life after a label approached her with a deal when she was 15. “Unfortunately, I had to refuse their offer but I knew I was made for music and that waiting for the right team would pay off.” And it did! In October 2015, Juliane dropped her debut, self-titled EP, which she says is the introduction of who she is as an artists and a person to the world! “These are the sounds I love and create and this is who I am as a person. Sweet and friendly, a dreamer, but a real go-getter and not afraid to fight for what I want and believe,” she said.

“Bad News” by @EvaLazarus

Written by Brittany Shawnté

New music this morning! Check out the latest track from reggae/R&B singer Eva Lazarus, “Bad News!”

Produced by Sam Interface  and Brad Baloo, the track fuses elements of reggae and synthpop and features Eva’s sultry vocals as she sings to her lover, as she laments that they are both truly bad for each other. Yet she still has feelings and they can’t stay away from each other. “I know that you’re bad for me, but when we get together, it’s all good, good, good,” she croons. Who hasn’t been through that?! Definitely relatable.
