What made me fall in love with the song was actually the video. Staged at the scene of the Salem witch trails, Jessie is burned at the stake for seemingly loving who she wanted to love. The juxtaposition between the verses being a bit flirty and sexual are really uplifted by the video and make you understand that this song can apply to so much more than just someone’s sexual preferences. I really love what Jessie did with this one and respect her for the artistic integrity she put forth.

Hangin’ & Mackin’ (Vol. 1) – by @RagzDaArtist
I’m incredibly impressed with Ragz & his EP. He’s the main inspiration for a lot of the people back home, myself included. He’s put me onto engineers and has done an amazing job networking. I love the way his voice has evolved over time — I have to admit I find courage in his strength to rhyme & sing with such ease & talent. Additionally, his promo game has truly stepped up on this project.
Elephant in the Room by @iamJoshDWH

Open Mic Night with @Sound_Series and @Dinner_Land
Written by President ELLA
It’s been a while since I touched the mic, but The Sound Series gave me exactly what I needed. This Brooklyn open mic is both organized and dope. As advertised, sign ups are from 6-7 and go smoothly because you’re asked to show up with a hard drive & you only get 1 song.
“Ella Mai” by @EllaMai

I’ve been waiting for a full (new) project from Ms. Ella Mai. Apparently, she’s been working on this self-titled album and compiling her work just for people like me 🙂 The 16 song project is certainly worth the listen; even the mediocre song are really good because her voice is simply that serene.
“Level Up” by @Ciara

This has to be my favorite jam of the moment. No only is the tempo typical get-your-ass-up Ciara, the lyrics are super uplifting. I def tune into Ciara when I’m trying to dance my pain away. Listen to the song & watch the video below, it’s certain to get your vibes up 🙂
QUEEN by @NickiMinaj #ALBUMREVIEW
Written by President ELLA
Honestly, I think it’s her best project yet. I know, I know… we don’t like the shots at Cardi or Lil Kim or any kind of (blackgirl on blackgirl hate), but the rap game been what it is. It’s about being the best, the dopest, the illest, the trillest — the absolute most of whatever you need to be at the time. We can’t possible expect Nicki to suddenly make amends with her rival and arch nemesis. What we can expect, is for her to come hard.
Singer/Songwriter: @YojiMusic
Written by Brittany Shawnté
R&B/pop singer, Yoji, was raised in London with a family of artists. With the support of her family, Yoji began learning how to play piano at the age of 8, but was trying her hand at song writing even before that. “I used to write songs in the playground with my friend and then perform them to everyone in a big showcase,” she said. “They didn’t really make any sense looking back but it was the best part of my day making music in the breaks.”
