Leopard Print Jacket 🐆 by @KendallandKylie

This coat is so much better than I thought it would be — not only is it warm, but I get tons of compliments. The pattern is pretty legit & it doesn’t look as faux as it is. I love how faint & cute this coat is; it goes perfectly with pants or bottoms you want to show off. I might need to try this with a long skirt 🧐

Leather in the Summer

No matter what Oprah says, I wear white in the winter and leather in the summer. All it takes is styling your items so that they are more seasonally appropriate. As a [new] New Yorker black clothing dominates most os my wardrobe. I actually have an entire closet dedicated just to my black clothes. When I purchase black items, I try to find something different — length of dress or sleeves, cool construction or different fabrics/textures. Leather (similar to wool, velour and lace) are difficult to transition from winter to fall, unless you pair them with something else. My outfit above and below isn’t special, just speaks to the fact that a sleeveless dress (no matter the fabric) can be work year-round. I particularly like to wear heavier fabrics to the office because the air conditioning is on full blast anyway! Not to mention, most restaurants are cold once you get inside!

Double-Edged Sword of Success

How long should you stay at your job? How long do you stay loyal? That opinion seems to shift through generations, industries, genders and location. As we hit milestones in our lives, it inevitable to start think “what’s next” before it actually gets here. But how do you know if the grass is greener on the other side? What are you really looking for? The money? The title? It’s funny how these can play into your professional and romantic life. What next? How do I know? I feel like I’m being forced to determine the rest of my life right now.

Stock Up on Florals!

My favorite trend of the fall has been florals. While the winter can get cold, florals in deep colors and really liven up your outfit. As you shop throughout the year, I’d recommend stocking up on florals in deep colors like blues, greens and burgundies which can easily transition into fall.

Office Politics + Mind Games

I got so stressed out at work I started reading The 48 Laws of Power. For the 4th time in my career, I feel like I’ve been looked over and not recognized. As I continue taking steps up the corporate ladder, I only hope the politics don’t pull me down. “Who you know here matters more than what you know,” is something the Director of HR told us in a leadership seminar. How can I stay motivated, while feeling like my merit will never be rewarded?

Fabulous Fashion Art Exhibit @PhilaMuseum

Fashion takes on a new life when exhibited as art. The Fabulous Fashion exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art showcases dresses from each decade, organized by style. It’s a brilliant display as you see how the architecture of clothing melds over time.

@VeraBradley’S Blogger + THE BRAND Event by #OmbreDigital

Vera Bradley’s spring resort collection is vibrant and comfortable (as was the blogger event). The SoHo store was covered in the classic paisley patterns we love Vera for in just about every shape. I was particularly impressed by the travel luggage featuring rolling bags with hard bottoms and bags that had compartments for just about everything. Keeping to their promise to honor the individuality of every women, there were also some very classy options in black, brown or leathers. I think the Vera Bradley team did an amazing job on reinventing the hardware on the simple bags, to give them a special touch – timeless, collection if you ask me.
