Breakfast at Pannes in Puerto Rico

I ordered the “Popeye’s Scramble” which was basically their version of a Greek Omelete. It’s was actually a pretty big serving for only $8.99. I also has bacon 🥓 & bread 🥖 but I don’t remember if it came with the meal or was separate, sorry 🙁 of course, I had lattes at the beginning and end of my meal — the coffee was great, as expected.

Breakfast at @EggslutLA in the @Cosmopolitan_LV

While in Vegas, you MUST have some Eggslut. I have to admit, I went because of the way I feel about eggs. Even a basic bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel is amazing. Everything is cooked fresh to order, so you can skip the microwave eggs and bacon, but you’ll have to wait in line, but it’s totally worth it. The bagel was also perfect in that it was warm and toasted but still fluffy. The to-go breakfast was perfect for our Vegas vacation; we wanted to be out walking around and enjoying the sights, not sitting in a building. Still, it’s located in the Cosmopolitan Hotel which is littered in chandeliers, so it’s not a terrible view 😉

Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles

Because it was my first time in California, I need to have some Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in Long Beach. My vacation breakfast is always at brunch, and chicken & waffles, in my opinion, is the perfect brunch meal. There isn’t much parking at this place, but there is plenty love

Breakfast for Busy Grown-Ups

Written by ELLA

I know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but who has the time for that? Pam wrote a great article on “Why Breakfast is Really for Champions” that has practically changed my life, so I try my hardest to follow her advice and get a morning meal in. I’m my ideal world, I’d get up and whip some eggs or pancakes with real, live bacon, but I barely have time to get dressed. Either I take forever to get ready in the morning, or the clock actually ticks faster. Since I typically roll out of of bed to walk Duchess, and there’s no telling how long she’ll want to roll around in the grass before she decides on a place to do her business, I need to find easy ways to make my breakfast to bring it to work and eat it at my desk.

Why Breakfast is Really for Champions

Eat breakfast to start up your metabolism and lose weight!  Many people believe that skipping breakfast will lead to weight loss by reducing your fat and calorie intake, but the truth is, while you sleep your metabolism slows down and by eating breakfast you are starting it back up.

Now, you may ask, “What does my metabolism have to do with breakfast or losing weight?” When you skip breakfast or any meal, your body goes into (what I like to call) “starvation mode”, your body compensates for the hunger by slowing down your metabolism and conserving calories, so your body can keep itself alive. Not providing your body with enough nutrients and “starving” yourself leads to your body burning your proteins, then carbohydrates, fats and finally your muscles; which could potentially lead to eating disorders such as anorexia.  When your metabolism is “working” (digesting foods, converting what you eat and drink into energy) you are actually LOSING calories!
