Fashion takes on a new life when exhibited as art. The Fabulous Fashion exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art showcases dresses from each decade, organized by style. It’s a brilliant display as you see how the architecture of clothing melds over time.
It’s quite nostalgic; The 90s really hit home for me with the spandex and bright colors 🙈 Sequins & shine is probably my favorite category if life. While the tagline for the exhibit mentions Dior, he is not the only designer featured. It was interesting to see how different designer tackled trends and how each designer grew individually, sometimes apprenticing and working under other great designers who came before them.
If you have a chance, stop by, the exhibit is on the first floor of the museum, on the way to the cafeteria, so you’re sure to see it. It’ll take you as long as you’d like but it’s worth 15-20 minutes of dragging your boyfriend along. He’ll agree it’s just enough time 😉
If you don’t have a chance to visit, enjoy the pics below!
