“You’re always trying to go to Ricardo’s,” he said and I finally got to show him why. This East Harlem gem is worth the time and the money. We were seated pretty fast for a table of two. The service is immediate, and you’re thrown right into the vibe with music and artwork. Biggie hangs on the wall and from the speakers… actually…everything is Big here!
The portions are large and the food is amazing. I always eat every single bite of my plate, but there’s enough to trade off and get a bite of whatever he ordered 🙂 The bread starter is perfect if you’re like me and practically starve yourself before a great dinner. He want hard and ordered one of the off-the-menu specials featuring lobster, shrimp, salmon, a crabcake, spinach and mashed potatoes. Since we started with the calamari & shrimp, I went for the simpler, NY Strip, which was exactly what my heart desired. I appreciate a great steak selection where I don’t have to think too hard. I know I want a good steak, but some fancy steakhouse menus are practically in a foreign language. Speaking of, the menu is vast & there are sides and specials that will help you add almost anything (including shrimp or lobster) to your dish of choice. My drink was a cocktail made of Jack Daniel’s Honey & you really don’t get that anywhere (it really did it’s job).
