Binge watched “I’m Dying Up Here” on Showtime over the long weekend and got a healthy balance of tears and laughs. The comedic drama, created by Jim Carrey, is literally a drama about a comedy club. I also appreciate that the cast feels fairly diverse. There are people of all races as well as strong male and female leads. I’m a sucker for any show with a strong female; Goldie, the owner of the comedy club, is my favorite. My second favorite is the woman who runs the “modeling agency”. There are a lot of gems in this series, quotes and lessons you can take with you. There are also a lot of life lessons for struggle artists. Best part of it all, is there are laughs the whole way through.
