“Honored” doesn’t begin to describe how I felt when Genevia asked me to sit for a #THISIS327 video. She’s launching 3:27 Cosmetics with a line of 8 liquid matte lipsticks every brown girl needs. I admire that the brand is launching with a self-less campaign highlighting women she knows, sharing their insight on daily routines, tips and cosmetics. I think this consideration is essential when creating and selling products women depend on to provide them a sense of confidence and security.
My feelings toward Genevia translate to her brand: I feel a tremendous sense of pride when I see in see brown girls shining vibrantly and unapologetically. Not too long ago, I sat across a table from her, in a dimly lit room sharing our lunch recipes and “some day” fantasies. On this day, I was able to experience her in her element, living her dream. I am so happy to support her and her brand; the lipstick has a long-wear that reminds me of its’ founder tenacity. I’ll be sure to introduce Genevia, 3:27 Cosmetics and the liquid matte lipsticks in better detail later.
